THE BIG APPLE!!!! Paige and I have been dreaming of our Senior Trip since we were in middle school! Yet never has New York City come to mind! Since Paige and I were little we always dreamed of the day we would finally graduate from High School because this meant a senior trip!!! We had hundreds of ideas of where we wanted to go and after many weeks of contemplating it. Paige decided to surprise me and NOT tell me where we were going... PLOT TWIST!!! She decided on New York City.

I've been having an itch to travel for months now and I was so excited that I was finally able to take this vacation. It was unlike any place I've ever been!I loved the diversity and how different it was from Utah.
Day 1:
When we landed, we took ‘Lyft’ to get to our hotel. Traffic was insane so it took us about 2 hours to get to our hotel that was only 16 miles away from the airport. After unpacking our stuff at our hotel we were all starving!! We went to TGI Friday’s... and holy crap, we all were scared of getting food poisoning because it was the most disgusting and dirty restaurant we've ever been to, so we went to a cafe across the street instead haha. We quickly realized if the place we wanted to eat didn't have a Grade "A" on the window... you DO NOT eat there! Tonight we walked around Times Square and found ourselves in the M&M Factory!!

Day 2:
When we woke up we were all pretty hungry so we decided to walk to this bagel place that was pretty far. We stood in line for about an hour but holy cow it was SO worth it! They were the most amazing bagels I've ever had. Then we went on the subway... scariest thing of my entire life. We went to the 9/11 memorial which took about 3 hrs to get to because the subway is so confusing. It was really cool to see all the names of the people who had passed on 9/11. We then went to the statue of liberty which was so beautiful! Later that night we purchased tickets to see the play, “School of Rock”. It was an incredible play! A group of 11 year old kids played instruments and sang like professionals. That play was the best part of the day!!

Day 3:
Today was pretty amazing. The first thing we did on this beautiful day was go to church! We were all pretty excited because the church was on the 3rd floor of the temple. It was very different than a normal sacrament meeting. Everyone in the congregation sang beautifully, it was like the tabernacle choir. When church was over we walked to a different bagel place. Lets just say it didn't even compare to the first bagel place we went to! Our first activity of the day was riding bikes in Central Park. I never realized how big it was till I actually got there! Okay now... if you ever go to New York, this is a MUST, even if you're 50 miles away!! Cookies from Levain Bakery. I could've eaten the whole store! The chocolate peanut butter cookie was to die for! So we took the subway to as close to the Brooklyn Bridge as we could get. But we are Utah girls and aren't good with directions. So... when we got there we took a ‘Lyft’ literally 1 block to get to where we needed to go to get to the Brooklyn bridge. It was pretty hilarious considering we were across the street from the Brooklyn bridge, we just couldn't see it! On the bridge there was this man who painted these incredible paintings so we each bought one! On our way back to the hotel, we had a little performance on the subway by the most incredible singer! She was absolutely amazing!

Day 4:
So this week our sink was leaking and our shower had a little mold in it. Now I have a very "go getter" aunt so this problem needed to be fixed ha. The hotel didn't fully compensate us but they did compensate us with $75 worth of treats and sweets from the store downstairs. We then walked to Ess-A-Bagel which was our all-time favorite place to eat! On our way to the hotel we had our Uber driver stop at Levain Bakery so we could get our favorite cookies. We bought extra to take home because we needed our cookie fix! We were all sad to leave because we had such a good time! But sometimes the short trips are the best trips!
