The Beauty Blog... why?

As cosmetologist my career revolves around making people look and feel beautiful. But it’s not just about the physical appearance that creates the look. There is a lot of communication and understanding that goes along with each service. When you have 2+ hours to spend with each client, you get to know them pretty well. They open up about their personal lives and sometimes seek advice from you. Because of this I consider those in the beauty field, "Cosmo Counselors." As a Lash Extension Artist, it's the same deal. My clients want to be heard. They want someone to listen, and sometimes they need advice. I've had many clients sit in my chair who don't feel confident in themselves. They feel stuck, lost, and confused. Many of them express concerns with some area of their body. To them, their physical appearance determines how they feel about themselves.

In a world today where social media plays a huge role in everyones lives, we sometimes do base our confidence and self esteem on how we look. We see models in magazines and celebrities who look incredible and we want to look like them yet in all reality... those images are edited. We see what we want to look like and we get down on ourselves. We look in the mirror and negative thoughts fill our heads as we point out each and every flaw we see.

This blog is to share products that as a cosmetologist I love! I want to help people find products that work for them and can enhance their natural beauty. BUT thats not all. This blog is also about finding yourself, loving yourself, and finding YOUR beauty. True and genuine beauty comes from within... the person you are, and the person you want to become. Everyday is a fresh page in your book of life and its your job to write the best book you can. I believe learning to love yourself and your journey is a huge part of your story and who you will become. Find yourself! Love yourself! AND... Find YOUR beauty!
